A basic but important tip to gain more power and accuracy is a straight left arm during your swing if you are a right-handed player, and vice-versa if you are a left-handed player.
As a right-handed player, when addressing the ball, make sure your left arm is straight/stiff. It should feel like a firm muscle flex. Recognize that feel, and maintain it through the whole swing. If you do that, it will help your shoulder turn as you get to the top of your backswing and help the clubface come through a little more square at impact.
If you are struggling with distance, this might get you excited. It can add considerable distance if you practice this. Go grip it and rip it!
